Dr. Oz said that you can get an over active adrenal gland from not sleeping, and it will also cause you to get very little sleep. The adrenal gland sits on your kidney and will excrete stress hormones if it detects if you are stressed or not, if it is over active then it is excreting a lot of stress hormone.
