Loretta had problems with sleep when she started menopause. Loretta works in a field where she teaches people how to sleep. She said she tried self-hypnosis to sleep, but it wasn’t until Dr. Oz’s segment on tart cherry juice and better sleep that she had luck.
After watching the show, she takes a shot glass full of tart cherry juice 90 minutes before sleep. She said that fixed her problem.
Tart cherry juice comes in concentrate or juice. Dr. Oz said when he was a kid, they rode donkeys in Turkey to pick tart cherries. Tart cherries are a staple in Turkey. They give us the exact amount of melatonin we need, which is what encourages sleep.
Dr. Oz: Avoid Electronics to Sleep
Stacey sent Dr. Oz an Instagram photo of what she looked like before and after she got eight hours of sleep at night.
Stacey said one night, she couldn’t sleep, and she had 25 Dr. Oz shows on her DVR. She joked that number 15 had a story on how to get to sleep.
He talked about getting rid of electronics at night when you’re trying to sleep, so Stacey took the TV out of her room and put her tablet and cell phone in another room, too. This worked for her.
This works because the light from electronics prevents the brain from making its own melatonin. Without the electronics, we can get to sleep more easily because the melatonin is allowed to flow in our brain.
